Free skill development courses for unemployed youth launched

BSNL Puducherry and Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Telecom Training Centre will offer various skill development courses free of cost for the unemployed youth from the SC community.

Candidates having a diploma/ B.Tech qualification can enrol for these courses (Optical Fiber Splicer, Tower Technician) conducted in association with the Labour Department under the Skill Development Initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Welfare Minister M. Kandasamy launched the free courses at a function held at the main telephone exchange.

Lakshminarayanan Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister; R. Mihirvardhan, Labour Secretary; J. Jayakumar, BSNL GM; D.Raghunathan, director Adidravidar Welfare Development; and E. Vallavan, Labour Commissioner, participated.
