Four killed in separate accidents

Four persons, including an 11-year-old child, were killed and seven others sustained injuries in two separate accidents in Cuddalore.

According to police, a tourist bus proceeding towards Cuddalore collided head-on with a car proceeding towards Mailam temple at Periyakattupalayam.

Balasubramanaim, who was driving the car, and his wife Bhuvaneshwari were killed in the impact. The accident occurred while they were proceeding to the temple along with their newly married son.

His son, Sivaraman, and wife Soundarya, sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the Government General Hospital in Puducherry.

Another case

In another accident, an autorickshaw, in which a family of seven were travelling from Kurinjipadi to Melmaruvathur, collided with a low-carrier four-wheeler at Pattampakam in Panruti.

An 11-year-old child and a person aged 60 were killed in the accident. The injured have been admitted to Jipmer hospital, police said.
