The final electoral rolls for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections to the Puducherry constituency were released on Sunday. The total number of electors has been put at 9,01,357.

The number of women voters exceeds men by 37,241. The number of transgender voters has increased from 12 to 20 since the summary revision. The supplementary voters’ list part II and III, with applications received both online and at two special enrolment camps, were released by District Election Officer S.B. Deepak Kumar in the presence of the representatives of various parties. Three companies of the Central Armed Forces will arrive in Puducherry for election duty on April 19, Senior Superintendent of Police Omvir Singh said.

Expenditure observers have started calculating the expenses of candidates. The calculations started on April 12 and continued on Sunday. It would resume on April 16, 17, 22 and 23. All parties should submit their expenses at the District Election Office at in Saram.
