Feast for art and culture enthusiasts

The next few days promise to be a feast for art and culture enthusiasts with several events spanning dance, music, photography and books in Puducherry.

On Thursday evening, Aurodhan Pondicherry is organising Natyanjali with performances by Sumati Kalidindi (Bharatanatyam) and Amrita (Odissi). Ms. Sumati received her initial training under Guru Sri Hemangini Desai at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education in Puducherry. The event will take place at 8.30 p.m. on January 28 at Krtashreya Aurodhan Garden.

Writer-photographer Pankaj Sekhsaria will present his experiences in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and also read from his debut novel, The Last Wave, at an Urban Colloquium organised by the Urban Design Collective in collaboration with PondyPHOTO 2016, at Kasha Ki Aasha, Surcouf Street, 7 p.m. on January 29.

On Saturday (January 30), Sonali S. Biswas, faculty of Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, will present a Hindustani Classical music concert at Krtashreya Aurodhan Garden at 8.30 p.m. organised by Aurodhan. There will be more music with a performance by Ravindra Katoti on the harmonium accompanied by Udayraj Karpur on the tabla on Feb. 2 at the auditorium in Alliance Francaise at 7 p.m.
