Electoral roll for local body polls released in Vellore

List will be displayed for public view at respective areas

The electoral roll for local body elections was released on Friday. As per the roll, there are a total of 32,17,890 voters in Vellore district.

Collector S. A. Raman published the electoral roll that would be displayed for public view at the Collectorate, district panchayat, panchayat union and village panchayat council offices for rural areas, and at the zonal offices for urban areas.

The number of voters stood at 20,09,048 in rural areas, 1,87,414 in town panchayats, 6,05,199 in municipalities and 4,16,229 in Corporation limit. Those who want to apply for addition of name to the electoral roll or submit objection to any registered name or detail found in the voters’ list, can do so by submitting their petition or objection to the respective Assembly constituency returning officer. Steps will be taken to make the necessary changes in the electoral roll, a press release said.
