The DMK on Saturday released the list of candidates for the Assembly elections. Former MLAs S.P. Sivakumar and R. Siva will contest from Muthialpet and Orleanpet constituencies. A.M.H. Nazeem, the party’s sitting MLA from Karaikal South will contest from the constituency again.
The party has also given ticket to a lone woman contestant Geetha Anand from Neravy T.R. Pattinam in Karaikal.
The list of candidates in other constituencies is as follows: V. Annibal Kennedy (Uppalam), Sun Kumaravel (Mangalam), A.K. Kumar alias Krishnan (Mannadipet), N. Bellary alias Kaliaperumal (Thattanchavady) and S. Suresh (Mudaliarpet). Former Minister S.P. Sivakumar has shifted from Raj Bhavan to Muthialpet Assembly segment held by the DMK. As per the seat-sharing agreement, Congress will contest from 21 seats and DMK from nine seats in the Union Territory
