DMK’s Puducherry unit on Tuesday flayed the ruling All India NR Congress Government for its failure to pay wages to employees in the State-owned public sector undertakings and cooperative undertakings for several months.

In a statement, M. A. S. Subramanian said more than 5,000 employees in those institutions have not received their wages. He also alleged that the government has been showing scant regard to the plight of employees.

Dr.Subramaniam said that though Diwali was fast approaching, there was no word on the bonus structure for workers in various undertakings. Workers in the Anglo French Textile mills were also reeling under poverty as the mill had declared a lay-off.
