Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), a deemed university in Puducherry, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute, Lonavla, Maharashtra, on Thursday to collaborate on yoga therapy, education and research.
The MoU will pave the way for joint educational and research activities, exchange of academic materials and publications as well as the exchange programme for faculty members for research, lectures and discussion.
Kaivalyadhama CEO Subodh Tiwari and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Registrar A.R. Srinivasan signed the pact. Centre for Yoga Therapy, Education and Research (CYTER) deputy director Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, in a press statement, said: “This is an innovative step as it represents the coming together of the modern medical science with the ancient traditional wisdom of yoga.”
Kaivalyadhama was founded by Swami Kuvalayananda in 1924. Extensive scientific and literary research has been done there and a yoga therapy hospital is running in the institute along with GS college of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis.
Balaji Vidyapeeth has been running the Centre for Yoga Therapy, Education and Research (CYTER) on its campus since 2010 under the SBV AIM HIGH initiative.
Mr. Tiwari spoke on the occasion highlighting the scientific research work done at Kaivalyadhama since 1924.
