The State council (Puducherry) of Communist Party of India (CPI) will meet here on Thursday to take stock of current political situation, after the break of electoral understanding between the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
When asked about the party’s stand on contesting Puducherry Lok Sabha seat, R. Viswanathan, secretary, CPI, told The Hindu here that he had been getting continuous calls from party functionaries from different regions to field a candidate for the Puducherry seat. The desire of functionaries and other issues would be discussed in the State council meet.
