Conference hall for NLC ST employees’ association in Puducherry

NLC Chairman-cum-Managing Director B.Surender Mohan inaugurated the hall on the occasion of the "Mupperum Vizha."

The Neyveli Lignite Corporation has constructed a conference hall for the benefit of the NLC Scheduled Tribe Employee’s Welfare Association at a cost of Rs 10 lakh in Neyveli Township.

NLC Chairman-cum-Managing Director B.Surender Mohan inaugurated the hall on the occasion of the “Mupperum Vizha,” including the 14th anniversary of the Association and the felicitation to meritorious ST students observed on the Association premises in Block 20 of the Neyveli Township on last Sunday.

The Chairman also gave away prizes to the wards of the Scheduled Tribe employees who scored good marks in the Secondary School Leaving Examinations and the Plus Two public examinations.

The Chairman said that the conference hall should be put to good use by organizing social and educational activities. Responding to the request of Association president K.Kanagaraj that the NLC could give away free uniforms, text books, note books and other educational aids to the ST students living in the surrounding villages the Chairman said that it would be considered.

NLC Directors M.S.Ravindranath S.Rajagopal and S.Bhoopathi, Association generally secretary B.Kanagaraj and others participated.
