CM of Puducherry scales down law college tuition fees

The students abstained from classes and protested in front of the Assembly against the sudden hike in tuition fees on Thursday.

Chief Minister N.Rangasamy on Thursday ordered areduction in tuition fees to be paid by students of Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Puducherry, following a representation from the students.

On Thursday, the students abstained from classes and protested in front of the Assembly against the sudden hike in tuition fees.

The students said that the fee was increased five-fold from Rs.750 a year to Rs. 3,500 a year.

Later, student representatives were taken to the Chief Minister’s chamber. After examining their petition, Mr. Rangasamy directed the officials to scale down the tuition fees to Rs.1,000.
