CM, Ministers get rousing reception in Yanam

All measures will be taken to develop the district, says Narayanasamy

Chief Minister Narayanasamy and his Cabinet colleagues visited Yanam enclave on Tuesday.

Public Works Minister A. Namassivayam, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, Revenue Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan, Welfare Minister M. Kandasamy, Education Minister R. Kamala Kannan, also accompanied the Chief Minister.

They flew from Chennai to Rajahmundry. From there, they flew by a special chopper and landed at NEC helipad, Rajeev Beach.

Guard of honour

Puducherry Police, Yanam, gave a ceremonial guard of honour. The Regional Administrator in Yanam and department heads accorded a reception to the delegation.

A ‘Poorna Kumbha Swagatham’ was accorded by Yanam Block Congress Committee.

Several hundreds of followers of Malladi Krishna Rao, Congress party functionaries, Youth Congress members, Mahila Congress assembled for the event.

Later, the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues went around the streets of Yanam in an open vehicle.

In GMC Balayogi Grounds, a public reception function was organised by Yanam Municipality.

Braving sharp showers, huge crowd thronged the venue.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Narayanasamy said his government would take all measures to develop Yanam in all sectors in the coming years and thanked the people of Yanam for their warm welcome and affection.

Then the team left for New Delhi via Visakhapatnam.
