An AIADMK man was injured when clashes broke out between two groups during the party’s organisational elections to ward committees on Saturday.

The elections to various posts in the AIADMK began with filing of nominations on Friday. At the AIADMK head office in Puducherry, clashes broke out between two groups of workers who had filed nominations for the same ward in Thattanchavadi constitutency.

The two groups exchanged blows and one person was injured. A tense situation prevailed for around half-an-hour. It was brought under control by AIADMK MLAs P. Purushothaman and A. Anbalagan.

The police did not register any case as no complaint was lodged.
