Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Wednesday said the oral observation made by the Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra in the case related to the power tussle between the Delhi Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister was applicable to Puducherry also.
Without naming Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, the Chief Minister said “ I hope people here would change their attitude after the observation made by the Supreme Court,” while participating in a protest demonstration here to mark the demonetisation anniversary.
Chief Justice Misra on Tuesday had observed that Lieutenant Governor of Delhi cannot differ with each and any administrative decision of the Delhi government.
Mr. Narayanasamy alleged that several schemes, including farm loan waiver and financial assistance to backward class students, were delayed after Ms. Bedi referred the files to the Union Home Ministry.
The Chief Minister said he would not hesitate to fight to protect the dignity of the party he represents and of Puducherry.
“Even if I am in the government, we (Congress and DMK) will fight to protect the dignity of the party and Puducherry,” he said.
