The campaigning by cine stars has added colour to the road shows undertaken by various parties.

Though many parties have roped in film and television personalities, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has taken a clear lead over others in bringing actors to Puducherry.

Actors and folk artistes such as C.R. Saraswathi, Anitha Kuppusamy, Vindhiya and Fathima Babu were among those who canvassed so far for the AIADMK candidate M.V. Omalingam.

On Thursday, actor Thiagu went around Puducherry seeking votes for the AIADMK.

“The reach is definitely better for actors than serious speakers. We have lined up more actors to take forward the campaign,” said a senior leader of AIADMK.

The DMK is also expected to bring in some film personalities. However, the Congress and the All India N.R. Congress seem to lag far behind in this matter.
