Chief Minister N. Rangasamy hosted an Iftar on behalf of Lieutenant Governor Ajay Kumar Singh on the lawns of the Raj Nivas here on Saturday.

A host of dignitaries, who were handed out special invite, started arriving shortly after 6 p.m. Deputy Speaker T.P.R. Selvame, Minister T. Thiagarajan, MLAs A.M.H. Nazeem and A. Tamizhselvan, and Joint Secretary to the Lieutenant-Governor G. Srinivas attended the party.

The Puducherry State Wakf Board, led by its chairman V.P.Abdul Rahman, lent support to the event. The Iftar is an annual event hosted by the Lieutenant Governor. However, as the Lt. Governor is away in his principal domain of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Chief Minister hosted the party on his behalf.
