A cement dealer’s office in Puducherry was burgled on Thursday night. The burglars broke open the gate and door of Jegadeeshan’s office on 100 Feet Road and stole Rs. 6 lakh cash and modems worth more than Rs. 2 lakh.

Jegadeeshan (45) of Reddiyarpalayam has more than 15 staff working in his office. When a lorry driver arrived at the office on Friday morning, he found the door lock broken and he alerted Mr. Jegadeeshan.

Mr. Jegadeeshan filed a complaint at the Orleanpet police station. The police and forensic experts collected evidence from the spot.

No CCTV cameras

Since there were no close circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the office, the police were trying to get the footages from CCTV cameras in the neighbourhood.
