CBI arrests NHAI official

Sleuths from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested Bhima Simha, project director, project implementation unit (PIU) of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Villupuram on charges of taking ₹2 lakh bribe.

According to sources, Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) police laid a trap and arrested the accused immediately after he allegedly accepted the bribe from M. Rayar to grant permission to run a restaurant on NH 45 at Villupuram.

Mr. Rayar lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) who laid a trap.
