Case booked against 40 PASIC workers

The police have registered a case against 40 workers of the Puducherry Agro Services and Industries Corporation (PASIC) for ransacking the main office at Thattanchavady on Tuesday.

The workers, who were staging a dharna in front of the office seeking immediate disbursement of salary arrears, went on the rampage and damaged the glass panes and furniture on the premises following a scuffle with the manager, Rajendiran.

Based on a complaint lodged by Managing Director Johnson, the police registered a case against 40 workers under various sections of the IPC. The police have also booked a case against Mr. Rajendiran for allegedly assaulting two workers with a helmet on a counter-complaint lodged by Arumugam.
