Review on: A Telecom Advisory Committee meeting chaired by R. Radhakrishnan, MP, under way.

The progress of BSNL Puducherry in the rollout of Next Generation Network (NGN) technology in landline segment was one of the focal points of discussion at a recent Telecom Advisory Committee meeting chaired by R. Radhakrishnan, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha).

BSNL has migrated 11 exchanges to NGN and the remaining 13 are being taken up for the current financial year.

In the mobile segment, 14 new 3G Node-B sites are planned under Phase-VIII.4.

P. Santhosham, Principal General Manager, BSNL, Puducherry, who is also the Secretary of Telecom Advisory Committee, briefed the members on various new services being provided and concessions offered by BSNL.

The Members of Telecom Advisory Committee who participated in the meeting included R. Thanigai Thambi, J. Dhandapani, R. Parthasarathy and R. Probakar offered various suggestions for further improvement of BSNL services.

R. Umasankar, DGM (CFA), Radhika Raveendran, DGM (CM), S. Rajanayakam, DGM (F&A) and E.S. Seshadri, AGM BSNL, Puducherry, attended the meeting.
