The members of bread and milk supplying employees association observed relay hunger agitation for the third consecutive day here on Sunday.
They commenced the agitation before the Nehru Statue on Friday demanding that the State government recommence the suspended scheme.
The scheme was launched in 2002 by Congress president Sonia Gandhi to provide bread and milk for school-going children of all government and aided schools in a bid to ensure their regular attendance besides providing nutritional support. However, the programme was stopped by the authorities citing deficit of milk in February 2014.
