Ambedkar bust removed

Tense situation prevailed at Kayathar Colony near Vikkiravandi as police removed the bust of B.R.Ambedkar unauthorisedly installed there on Tuesday night.

Complaint

The Village Administrative Officer (Incharge) Thiruvengadam lodged a complaint with the police.

He stated that the bust was installed at the Kayathar Colony without obtaining prior permission from either the police or the revenue officials.

Soon a police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Seetharaman rushed to the spot.

They removed the bust and handed it over immediately to the Vikkiravandi tahsildar Ravi Kannan.

As the colony residents protested the police action tension prevailed there.

Police picketing has been posted at the colony.
