AIADMK to write to President on PSU postings

June 29, 2017 11:04 pm | Updated 11:04 pm IST - Puducherry

The Opposition AIADMK will soon present a detailed memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh urging them not to approve of any proposal of the Puducherry Government on appointment of non-official members as chairman of public sector undertakings (PSUs) in the Union Territory.

AIADMK Legislature party leader A. Anbalagan told reporters that already Puducherry had been reeling under financial crunch.

The loss-making government undertakings were hit by malpractices and any move to appoint non-official members as Chairman would increase the losses.

Mr. Anbalagan said the move to have three nominated MLAs in the Legislative Assembly was only to please the office-bearers of the party and sycophants to ensure a campaign against the Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi.
