AIADMK threatens stir against Bedi

The AIADMK (Amma) faction has threatened to launch an agitation against Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi for “deliberately,” trying to usurp powers of elected representatives.

“She should stop her attack on elected representatives and her attempts to overrule us. If she continues to do so, we will launch an agitation,” the party’s local unit leader A. Anbazhgan told reporters here on Tuesday.

The Lieutenant Governor, he said, was trying to spread false information on social media that she conducted her weekend tour programmes after informing the respective legislators.

However, Ms. Bedi had only sent an invite for a lecture series organised by Raj Nivas in which Jaggi Vasudev was the main speaker. The invite was returned as a mark of protest, Mr. Anbazhgan added.

He also criticised the police for “tardy investigation” into the murder of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi member Vel Azhagan.

The police was trying to hide facts as personnel of the Odhiansalai station and other prominent persons were involved in the case, Mr. Anbazhgan alleged.
