The opposition AIADMK has charged the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government at the Centre with deliberately delaying its nod for the draft budget submitted by the Puducherry Government to create a fiscal crisis.
AIADMK Legislature party leader A. Anbalagan told presspersons here on Friday that the State Planning Board, which met under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, had recommended a plan outlay of ₹7,530 crore for the current fiscal. The draft budget was forwarded as per the statutory formality to the Union Home Ministry for its approval.
There was delay on the part of the Centre to give its nod to the budget. “This shows that there is a clear and deliberate move to create fiscal crisis and the Centre is apparently planning to dismiss the Puducherry government citing the fiscal crisis,” he said.
Conspiracy theory
Mr. Anbalagan pointed out that Puducherry had never witnessed such a situation before and the ruling Congress government is not showing its resistance to the Centre`s `conspiracy` to disturb the government here.
He called upon all political parties and outfits to come together and register their protest against the Centre and the Lieutenant Governor.
