Valentine’s Day celebrations were largely peaceful in the city without any untoward incident on Tuesday.

Police personnel were deployed at parks and other public spaces in the wake of protests by fringe outfits who had threatened to disrupt the event over the last few years.

Activists of the Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam handed over roses to couples at the Bharathi Park.

Meanwhile, Hot Breads, was among the many outlets in the city, which came up with a new assortment of special cakes and desserts as part of Valentine’s Day.

According to V.J. Dobson, Manager, Hot Breads, Puducherry, the flavours include Red Velvet, Chocolate Truffle, Black Forest, Rainbow and Mixed Fruit cakes.

The cakes can also be customised and are priced from ₹600 to ₹1200, he said.
