Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Monday said that the government has formed a team of doctors to tackle the influenza A(H1N1) (swine flu).

“We have received complaints of swine flu last week. Immediately, I discussed with the Health Minister and Director of Health. We discussed ways to eradicate mosquitoes, administer medicines among patients, and keep sufficient stock of medicines for emergencies,” he said.

He added that two doctors were treated for swine flu at JIPMER.

A senior doctor at the Public Health Department said at least 15 patients had tested positive for swine flu in the last three months.

“Most of them have recovered after treatment,” said the doctor.
