A few investors enquired about options in cruising: V. Narayanasamy

Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Monday said several non-resident Indians had evinced interest in investing in tourism, pharma, and automobile industry in the Union Territory.

Back here after attending the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas held in Bangalore, he said NRIs from countries such as Singapore, Canada, and Malaysia, and the Gulf were keen to know about the opportunities available here.

A few NRIs from Singapore wanted to explore options available for cruise operations. The expatriates in Dubai made enquiries about investment options in automobile and pharma sector. They were looking at the hospitality sector and tourism industry in general, the Chief Minister told The Hindu .

Similarly, NRIs from Canada made enquiries about investment in infrastructure development projects, he said.

The Chief Minister said he had assured the prospective investors of all assistance and informed them about the New Industrial Policy.

Mr Narayanasamy said he highlighted the peaceful environment prevalent in the region. The proposed investors meet would be a turning point in getting investments and several expatriates had expressed willingness to attend the event, he added.
