Six-year-old S. Rishikesh of Puducherry set the Assist World Record by identifying flags of 200 countries in 1 minute 39 seconds on Sunday.

Assist World Records Research Foundation Founder Rajendran. R said that Master Rishikesh broke the previous record, which was 2 minutes 19 seconds.

Rishikesh, a Class II student, counted in the reverse order from 100 to 1 in 43 seconds.

“The previous record was 70 seconds. We would certify him as he has set a new Assist World Records in identifying flags of 200 countries and reverse counting,” said Mr. Rajendran.

Rishikesh’s mother D. Sumithra said that he had a good visual memory.

“We taught him to identify 50 flags a day. He memorised the names of the countries and flags of 200 countries within four days. He can also spell the names of the countries,” she said.

His father S. Saravanan is a businessman.
