‘Kodai Vizha,’ an annual cultural show organised by the Department of Art and Culture concluded on Sunday.
The show which is also co-hosted by the Thanjavur South Zone Culture Centre was inaugurated by Chief Minister N.Rangasamy on Friday and presided over by Education Minister T.Thiagarajan.
Several artists staged a variety of performances at multiple venues.
While opening the show on Friday, Mr.Rangasamy said that the Department of Art and Culture was keen on promoting the growth of art and culture. The department was also doing great service to indigent artists.
Stating that children were not aware of the traditional arts and culture, he said this kind of festival would help them to know the traditional past. The Chief Minister also urged students to develop interest in arts.
Cultural shows were conducted at Kudapakkam, Thirukkanur, Karikalampakkam,and Kanniakoil.
Around 500 artists from 37 teams participated in the event.
