200 take part in bike rally for AIDS awareness

Pondicherry AIDS Control Society and college students from Red Ribbon Clubs took out a bike rally on Thursday.

Nearly 200 people participated in the rally to create awareness on HIV/AIDS in rural areas.

The rally began at the Beach Road and passed through Mudaliarpet, Ariyankuppam, Thavalakuppam, Karikalampakkam, Kariyamanickam, Villianur, Pathukannu, Mettupalayam, Vazhudavur Road, Rajiv Gandhi Statue, Kamaraj Statue and reached Gandhi Statue on the Beach Road through JN Street.

Pondicherry AIDS Control Society Project Director S.Jayanthi led the rally. Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute Medical Superintendent V.Govindaraj inaugurated the rally.
