Organs of a 54-year-old bus conductor P. Kandasamy of the TNSTC helped save the lives of at least five persons.

He died after sustaining a severe brain injury when a speeding two-wheeler hit him near a tea shop on Palakkad road, near Kuniamuthur here on May 6.

His organs were harvested at KG Hospital on May 8.

The eyes were allocated to Aravind Eye Hospital, the liver and one kidney to PSG Hospitals, and the other kidney to KG Hospital. Kandasamy is survived by wife, a government employee, two married daughters, and a son studying BE.
