Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Karuna Badwal on Monday met Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria in a purported bid to explain Mr. Khan’s version of what happened during the Wankhede brawl.

The meeting took place days after the Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights ordered Mumbai Police to register an FIR against the actor for allegedly using “filthy and abusive” language in presence of children.

The police, however, yet to register a case into the matter.

Mumbai Police spokesperson Dhananjay Kulkarni said that even though the police had received a copy of the Commission’s order, the FIR had not been registered till Monday evening. He added that he was unaware of the meeting between the police chief and Mr. Khan’s aide or the reasons of the delay of the registration of the case. Senior police officers of the zone concerned were unavailable for a comment.

The Commission has also ordered that an enquiry be initiated to find why an FIR was not registered in the first place even after a complaint was registered soon after the incident which took place in May 2012.
