The Wadia group has filed a complaint with the Mumbai police claiming that they have received a threat call allegedly from the "underworld" on Monday evening.
A senior police officer, who preferred anonymity, told this reporter that the secretary to industrialist Nusli Wadia received a call around 8 pm on Monday. The caller allegedly told them not to meddle in the Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia case. The call was reportedly followed by an SMS.
The Wadia group then lodged a complaint with the NM Joshi Marg police station which then transferred the case to the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai police, a specialised unit of the Mumbai Crime Branch that looks into extortion cases.
Last week, the actress Preity Zinta, through her lawyer, had filed a complaint of intimidation and molestation by former boyfriend Ness Wadia. The incident allegedly took place at the Wandkhede stadium in South Mumbai on May 30.
