An aircraft of U.S. carrier United Airlines was grounded on Thursday night in Mumbai due to technical problems, airport and Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials said.
The Mumbai-Newark flight no. UA-048 was cancelled after engineers found its right engine cover damaged. The Boeing aircraft arrived from Newark at around 10 p.m. on Thursday and was to take off at 11.40 p.m. Of the 249 passengers on the aircraft, 111 passengers were transferred to other flights while 77 were shifted to hotels.
