Two young men from Bhiwandi were brutally stabbed to death on Thursday by unidentified persons in a slum colony in the powerloom town, police said.

According to inspector Sanjay Satav at Narpoli police station in Bhiwandi, the unknown assailants attacked six members of a family in a slum colony in Valpada locality around 2.30 a.m. killing one person on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries on way to a hospital.

The deceased were identified as Agadh Munshilal Nishad (25) and Rambahadur Nishad (30), he said.

Among those injured seriously were a couple — Vijay Munshilal Nisad and Sarita Vijay Nishad — and their children who were shifted to Sion Hospital in Mumbai for treatment after being admitted to nearby IGM hospital.

The couple is said to be in a critical condition.

All the victims bore at least a dozen stab wounds on their body, police said.

As per locals, the attack resulted from a land dispute case but the real motive is still not clear and probe is underway.

Narpoli police station said they have registered a case under various sections of the IPC against the unknown killers, for whom hunt is on.
