Three more TBMs lowered for Metro 3

Mumbai: The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) lowered three more tunnel boring machines (TBMs) on Thursday.

The TBMs named, Surya 1, Tansa 1, and Krishna 1, were lowered at Cuffe Parade, Science Museum, Worli, and Naya Nagar, Mahim. S K Gupta, director (projects), MMRC, said, “We are pleased to announce lowering of three more TBMs on Thursday. With this, the MMRC has lowered 11 TBMs for the city’s first underground metro rail project. So far, the Mumbai Metro line 3 has completed 4,209 metres.” Mr. Gupta said all 17 TBMs will be operational by August.
