Three arrested with 100 kg ganja at Taloja

The Crime Branch central unit has arrested three men carrying 100 kg ganja worth ₹5 lakh in their car. Acting on a tip-off, assistant police inspector Pradeep Sarfare and his team laid a trap on Panvel-Mumbra road near the toll naka at Dharna village.

“We are investigating to whom they were planning to deliver the drugs,” inspector Jagdish Kulkarni, in charge of central unit, said.

The three men, Siraj Ahmed Riyaz Ahmed Chaudhary (28), Ameer Ahmed Muneer Ahmed (32) and Muhammad Usman Siddiqui (38), are residents of Mumbra. “The supplier is still at large and is a history-sheeter,” Mr. Sarfare said.
