Thane police to educate students on social media risks

Thane police will conduct sessions in schools and colleges here to educate students and their parents about the risks involved in social media use.

Thane Joint Commissioner of Police V.V. Laxminarayana said on Saturday that both parents and children needed to be warned of the risks that come with misuse or excessive use of social networking sites. He was addressing police commissionerate staff on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The police would take assistance from social organisations and NGOs, Mr. Laxminarayana said.
