Sex racket: eight held, 5 rescued

Six customers and two pimps were arrested after a prostitution racket operating from an apartment in Meera Towers in Lokhandwala, where IAS and IPS officers reside, were busted on Wednesday night.

Five girls were rescued, and over ₹4,000 in cash was seized during the raid on Thai Rich Spa, Crime Branch officials said.

Nisar Tamboli, DCP (crime), said the flat in question does not belong to any IAS or IPS officer.

The accused have been arrested under Section 370 (III) and Section 34 of the IPC, and Section 3, Section 4, and Section 5 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. They have been handed over to the Oshiwara police.
