Severed head found in suitcase in Vashi

The severed head of a beautician was found in a suitcase at lady’s finger farm at Seawood on Monday. The deceased was identified as Mariam Shaikh. The police have detained two persons who are suspected to have happened committed the murder following a job dispute.

At 10 a.m. on Monday, Mahendra Tandel, a resident of Karave village, found an abandoned rexine suitcase near his farm near Palm Beach Road. Police Inspector Ravindra Patil from NRI Coastal Police Station said, “The black and red suitcase had blood stains on it. A team reached the spot and found a severed head and the headless body stuffed in the suitcase.”

According to the police, the woman was murdered on late on Sunday night. Mr. Patil said, “From the woman’s attire and appearance she seems to be in be in her early or mid twenties and employed at a beauty parlour.”

The NRI coastal police have registered a case against unidentified accused under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the IPC.
