Re-open case against Amit Shah: Goa Cong.

‘Revisit CBI Judge Loya death case too’

January 13, 2018 11:07 pm | Updated 11:07 pm IST - Panaji

Goa Congress chief Shantaram Naik demanded on Saturday that the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case against BJP national president Amit Shah be re-opened.

On Friday, the four seniormost judges of the Supreme Court held a press conference against the Chief Justice’s decision to assign the Judge Brijgopal Harkishen Loya’s death case to Justice Arun Mishra’s Bench, bypassing senior judges.

The petitioners have also allegedly withdrawn their plea in the case citing lack of trust in the judge. CBI judge Loya was hearing the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case against Mr. Shah when he was found dead in Nagpur.

Mr. Naik said the death case should also be revisited and a transparent administrative mechanism be put in place in the apex court.
