Mumbai: The station master of Virar railway station was on Thursday debarred from duty after he failed to issue a caution order to the loco pilot of the Jaipur-Pune Express to restrict speed, as the train sped through a 200-metre section of waterlogged tracks on Wednesday.

According to Western Railway (WR) officials, on Wednesday morning, the tracks at Nallasopara were waterlogged. The station master gave a caution order to two other trains, but failed to issue one to the Jaipur-Pune Express.
