The case of prominent businessman Ajay Chordia, who was found hanging in a luxury hotel in Pune on October 27, took a mysterious turn with the police on Thursday claiming that a suicide note allegedly written by Mr. Chordia holds a particular individual responsible for his death.

According to Pimpri-Chinchwad police, the two-page note of Mr. Chordia (47) squarely pins the blame on Ashish Sharma, holding him responsible for his death. The note says that Sharma had taken Rs. 5 crore in cash and a flat in Pune’s Baner area from him, police sources told  The Hindu .

But the police otherwise continued to be tight-lipped about the investigation as it is a high-profile case.

“The deceased talks about being ‘frustrated’ by this Ashish Sharma. We haven’t discovered his link with Mr. Chordia. We are verifying whether the handwriting is indeed Mr. Chordia’s or not,” said senior inspector B. Mudiraj, in-charge of the Pimpri police station.
