Present yourself before police, court tells Paraskar

August 09, 2014 03:33 am | Updated April 21, 2016 05:07 am IST - MUMBAI:

A Mumbai Sessions court on Friday directed Deputy Inspector General Sunil Paraskar to present himself before the Mumbai police on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the sexual harassment case filed against him by a model.

The court passed the order while hearing the anticipatory bail application (ABA) filed by Mr. Paraskar. The court will pass its order on Tuesday.

On July 24, a 26-year-old model had lodged a complaint accusing the officer of raping and molesting her between November 2013 and March 2014 when he was posted as the ACP (North Region) with the Mumbai police.

Commenting on the point of delay raised by the defense in filing the case, Ms. Chitra Salunke, the intervening lawyer for the model, said the victim did try to disclose it to the wife of the accused when they met for a dinner in March.
