Power shutdown hits several parts of city

A major technical failure at Dharavi Receiving Station of Tata Power at 4.51 p.m. on Tuesday led to a power shutdown in several parts of the city. The affected areas include Sion, Wadala, Dharavi, Mahim, Elphinstone Road, Worli, Dharavi, Prabhadevi and Dadar.

Tata Power, in a statement said, “Power supply to the affected consumers was restored through an alternate network at 5.52 p.m. We are working towards system normalisation and finding the cause of of the cascade tripping for preventing the recurrence of such incidents.” BEST in areas it could restored power through alternate line, but several parts of Dharavi, Mahim, Elphinstone Road, Wadala, Dadar remained without power over 90 minutes or more.
