The city Judicial Magistrate First Class Court on Friday extended the one-day remand of the three office-bearers of the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) by three more days. The office-bearers were arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Goa police on Wednesday for fraud.

The three GCA officials— Chetan Desai, Vinod Fadke and Akbar Mulla — were produced by the police before JMFC judge Vijayalaxmi Shivolkar, seeking fresh extension of remand. Meanwhile, the three filed a bail application before the JMFC Court on Friday. But simultaneously, three life members of GCA, namely, complainant Vilas Desai, Hemant Angle and Prasad Fatarpekar on Friday filed an intervention application opposing their bail applications. The Court ruled that their bail application would be taken up only after deciding on the intervention applications on Saturday.

The three were arrested for swindling around Rs. 3.13 crore given to the GCA by the BCCI.
