The Navi Mumbai police plan to resume their final search for policewoman Ashwini Bidre’s remains in Vasai creek using dredgers on Thursday.

“We have made arrangements to start the operation on Thursday. Our staff is busy in recruitment, so we will conduct the search depending on the availability,” a senior officer said.

The police will take help from companies that do underwater construction. “We will use the dredger to remove sand from the two spots we have already identified. A magnetometer will be used to find metal in the sand,” the officer said.

Meanhwhile, ACP Sangeeta Alphanso is awaiting an extension order from the DG’s office to stay part of the investigating team. “She is still part of the team,” an officer said.
