Mumbai: Panvel, Bhiwandi-Nijampur and Malegaon municipal corporations will go to the polls on May 24 and the results will be declared on May 26.

This will be the first election of the newly-formed Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC). G.S. Saharia, State Election Commissioner, on Wednesday announced the schedule. “The nominations can be filed between April 29 and May 6, while the last date for withdrawals is May 11.”

According to the data provided by the State Election Commission, the three corporations will use the Assembly voters’ list announced on January 5.

PMC poll is likely to be crucial with the BJP putting in all efforts to win it, while the PWP poses a serious challenge.
