The case diary containing the original notings in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving actor Salman Khan is untraceable, the prosecution told a city court on Thursday. Fifty-six original witness statements too have gone untraceable. Only seven original statements are in the possession of the prosecution.
The court issued notice to the first investigating officer, Kishan Shengel, to appear before it on September 12. He has been asked to file an affidavit on the original documents. The court directed the prosecution to prepare a line of action to trace the missing documents.
Earlier, the prosecution told the court that the original documents were untraceable. The court then asked it to produce the case diaries at least. It was then that the prosecution said that the original case diaries too had gone missing.
The prosecution submitted that the original documents were kept at the magistrate’s office when the trial began.
